Orlando Pirates have officially begun reshaping their squad following a successful 2025/26 campaign, confirming four new signings while also announcing the departure of five players.
The Buccaneers have secured the services of Sbangani Zulu from Richards Bay FC, Ghampani Lungu and Bohale Ngwato from Siwelele FC, as well as Mthetheleli Mthiyane from Stellenbosch FC.
The arrivals signal Pirates’ intent to strengthen their squad despite ending the season as league champions, with the club looking to build on its recent success rather than stand still.
Zulu brings valuable top-flight experience, while Mthiyane joins from a Stellenbosch side renowned for developing talented players. Lungu and Ngwato, meanwhile, arrive from Siwelele FC as Pirates continue to add depth and competition across the squad.
The new additions come as the club confirmed the departure of five players following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, marking the beginning of a squad overhaul ahead of the new campaign.
While Pirates have yet to reveal the full impact these changes will have on the team, the message is clear: the Soweto giants are determined to refresh their squad and ensure they remain competitive on all fronts next season.
With four new faces already through the door and several players moving on, Pirates’ rebuild appears well underway as they prepare for the defence of their league crown.
