Casric Stars Sign Kermit Erasmus After Chippa United Deal Falls Through

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars have secured the signature of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates forward Kermit Erasmus. The 34-year-old striker brings vast experience to the ambitious outfit as they aim to bolster their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Erasmus, a former Bafana Bafana international, was previously training with Betway Premiership side Chippa United, with a deal seemingly imminent. However, the transfer collapsed due to undisclosed reasons.

Chippa United coach Thabo September, who once shared the pitch with Erasmus during their time at SuperSport United, shed light on the situation:

“Yah, he was training with us. We’re not signing him; it didn’t work out because of certain things. We would have wanted to sign him, [but] we couldn’t agree,” September explained.

Casric Stars now benefit from the unexpected turn of events as they welcome a player with a proven track record in both local and international football.

Teams Kermit Erasmus Has Played For

1. SuperSport United (South Africa)

2. Feyenoord (Netherlands)

3. Excelsior (Netherlands, loan)

4. Orlando Pirates (South Africa)

5. Stade Rennais (France)

6. Racing Club de Lens (France, loan)

7. Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa)

8. Cape Town City (South Africa)

9. Casric Stars (current)

Erasmus’s experience across multiple leagues and his ability to deliver on big occasions could prove invaluable for Casric Stars as they aim for promotion to the Betway Premiership.
