After nearly a decade in the famous black and white colours, Thabiso Sesane has penned an emotional farewell message to Orlando Pirates following his departure from the club.
The defender, who is set to begin a new chapter with Siwelele FC, leaves the Betway Premiership champions after nine years of service, bringing an end to a journey that saw him rise through the ranks and establish himself in the Buccaneers’ first team.

In a heartfelt message shared with supporters, Sesane reflected on what it meant to represent one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
“After nine years with the team, it’s now time to close this chapter of my career and I do so with nothing but gratitude in my heart. Wearing the Orlando Pirates badge was more than just representing a football club, it was living a dream that so many of us grew up chasing.”
The centre-back thanked everyone who played a role in his development, including the club’s management, coaches, technical staff, medical team and the many people working behind the scenes.
He also paid tribute to his teammates, describing them as brothers who shared unforgettable moments together both on and off the pitch.
“We celebrated victories together, learned from defeats together and created memories that I’ll carry with me forever. The changing room laughs, the hard training sessions, the sacrifices and the unforgettable moments on match days will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Although he is looking forward to the next stage of his career with Siwelele, Sesane admitted leaving the Soweto giants was far from easy.
“It’s never easy saying goodbye to a place that has meant so much to me. Football is a game of new opportunities and new challenges. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but a part of my heart will always belong to Orlando Pirates.”
The 25-year-old closed his message with words that are sure to resonate with the Buccaneers faithful.
“This is not goodbye forever, it’s simply farewell for now. Once a Buccaneer, always a Buccaneer. Thank you, Orlando Pirates.”
Sesane now turns his attention to a fresh challenge at Siwelele, where he will be expected to add leadership, experience and defensive solidity as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
